We’re officially halfway through 2018 and we hope it’s been a successful year for you so far. Our first issue of Medtech Pulse was really well received and we look forward to keeping you up-to-date with the latest Medtech news. 

We’d like to offer a warm welcome to the newest member of the Evolution family – Wakatipu Medical Centre. Practice Manager Phil Markham says the move to Evolution has been a positive one and staff have embraced the change.

Medtech’s not only committed to our customers but also to the community. We attended a recent fundraiser for
Gandhi Nivas to support its work to reduce domestic violence, including its expansion in Auckland. We look forward to sharing more news of our charitable work with you in the future. 

Congratulations to Mike Loten from West Coast Health Clinic and Anton Wiles from Remuera Doctors who won fantastic prizes in our GPCME competition in Rotorua last month. Mike took home a Google Chromecast Ultra and Anton a Fitbit Alta.

Accessing support easy with Insight

Remember to sign up for Insight, Medtech’s customer portal. We were thrilled to see the interest and requests to sign up to Insight following last month’s newsletter.

Insight is a new communication channel that makes accessing support easier and quicker. Instead of calling our support team when you need help, you can use the Insight portal to log tickets online, check the status of your open tickets and search our ever-growing knowledge base.

Insight has direct, single-sign-on access from within Medtech Evolution. To Register for Insight directly from within Medtech Evolution: File > Options > User Preferences > Insight Setup > Register.

Easy Booking appointments

ManageMyHealth Easy Booking is available now and allows patients to make appointments directly from their practice’s website.

All patients have to do is click on the green “Book Now” button and make their appointment. They can see at a glance which doctors are available for appointments and at what time.

Easy Booking is available to practices using Evolution and is easily set up by Medtech. It’s free for practices signed up to ManageMyHealth Patient Portal.

For a limited time we’re also offering Easy Booking to Medtech customers for free even if they don’t use the ManageMyHealth portal.

Evolution mobile app available now!

Did you know you can now access Medtech Evolution on Apple and Android mobile phones and tablet devices?

With a responsive screen design, the Evolution mobile app enables you to deliver care to your patients beyond your practice environment. The app lets you check your appointments, inbox messages, tasks and patient demographics, as well as a patient’s medical history, and create new consultation records from any location.

User groups & upcoming events

Our product team recently completed a number of user groups in Dunedin, Invercargill and Tauranga.  If you were one of the users who attended, thank you and we hope you put your newfound knowledge to good use in your practice.

Our user groups sessions cover a range of topics and information including:
  • new releases overview
  • upcoming product versions
  • overview of the latest software improvements implemented based on suggestions from users
  • a brief overview of complementary products and services offered by Medtech

We’re running a series of user groups throughout the country over the next few months. Look out for an invitation to a user group in your area or check the upcoming events page on our website for current events and training.

Monthly Tips and Tricks

Some tips and tricks to get the best out of your PMS:

Appointment Book Normal / Large View

Actions > View > Normal (or) Large

Users have the ability to select a normal or an enlarged view of the Appointment Book. Within the Appointment Book Actions Menu, select View Normal or View Large.

The Normal or Large view can be applied independently to each Appointment Book displayed for the user, and the change in view is remembered for each staff member.
Searching the Services List

File > Options > Accounting > Services

A search capability is available in the Services setup to enable a user to search for a specific Service Code or Service Description within a large services list.

Enter search criteria into the Search field within the screen and the Service Code list will immediately be filtered to display Service Codes matching the search criteria entered.
Print Indication in Daily Treatment

Patient > Consultation > Daily Treatment section

The Daily Treatment section of the New/View Consultation screen provides an indication to users on whether an item has been printed or not.

The Daily Treatment section will display a ‘P’ next to each item that has been printed for the patient.
