July 2018
Kia Ora,

We’re officially halfway through 2018 and we hope it’s been a successful year for you so far. Our first issue of Medtech Pulse was really well received and we look forward to keeping you up-to-date with the latest Medtech news.

We’d like to offer a warm welcome to the newest member of the Evolution family – Wakatipu Medical Centre. Practice Manager Phil Markham says the move to Evolution has been a positive one and staff have embraced the change.

Medtech’s not only committed to our customers but also to the community. We attended a recent fundraiser for
Gandhi Nivas to support its work to reduce domestic violence, including its expansion in Auckland. We look forward to sharing more news of our charitable work with you in the future.

Congratulations to Mike Loten from West Coast Health Clinic and Anton Wiles from Remuera Doctors who won fantastic prizes in our GPCME competition in Rotorua last month. Mike took home a Google Chromecast Ultra and Anton a Fitbit Alta.

We were delighted to catch up with so many of you at the conference and share with you the latest  Medtech developments. Be sure to check our website for upcoming conferences and events.

Ngā mihi,
Vino Ramayah and the team at Medtech

Activating the New Zealand Electronic Prescription Service

With the latest release of Medtech32 (Version 22.15 Build 5804 or later), we’ve made changes to simplify the activation of the NZePS service.  This allows practices to enable the service themselves.  As a result, there is no longer an activation fee for the NZePS service.

Full details of the activation process
as well as the ongoing monthly costs can be found on our website - Connected Health Information Services along with self-training guides and webinars.

Accessing support easy with Insight

Remember to sign up for Insight, Medtech’s customer portal. We were thrilled to see the interest and requests to sign up to Insight following last month’s newsletter.

Insight is a new communication channel that makes accessing support easier and quicker. Instead of calling our support team when you need help, you can use the Insight portal to log tickets online, check the status of your open tickets and search our ever-growing knowledge base.

Insight has direct, single-sign-on access from within Medtech32. To Register for Insight directly from within Medtech32 go to: File > Options > User Preferences > Insight Setup > Register.

Medtech and Pegasus PHO sign new agreement

Medtech and Pegasus PHO signed an agreement last month to allow Medtech32 practices to continue to have a supplier arrangement with Medtech and remain integrated with the Pegasus PHO for claiming and reporting purposes. This applies to Medtech32 practices in the South Island that are members of the Pegasus PHO.

The initial terms of the agreement is for two years. It allows Medtech customers to have a choice of which PMS they would like to use in the future. Medtech and Pegasus have also agreed that Medtech Evolution will have full interoperability when it comes to Pegasus PHO functions for claiming and reporting purposes, enabling any Pegasus member practice on Medtech Evolution to fulfil its PHO obligations.

If you’re working at a Medtech32 practice in the South Island, we’d also like to let you know that Medtech Evolution is now fully integrated with ERMS and has also been certified by HealthOne.

If you would like to find out more, give us a call or sign up to one of our Discover and Experience Evolution workshops, which will be running throughout the country. For more information, please visit
